At least two years' experience, good organizational skills, typing, computer, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Position Summary
The Upward Bound Administrative Assistant supports program operations during the academic year and summer components by coordinating tutoring schedules, maintaining student and tutor records, and assisting with program planning. Responsibilities include compiling data for federal reporting, managing the BLUMEN database, and providing responsive support to students, parents, and school staff. The role requires strong organizational and communication skills, and proficiency with word processing, databases, office equipment, and social media platforms.

- Good organizational skills, typing, computer, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Responsive and attentive to students, parents, and relevant school staff.
- Proficiency in word-based processing and database systems, and knowledge of common office equipment and the operation of various social media outlets.
- Assisting in planning for Upward Bound academic and summer component.
- Compiling data for the Upward Bound Annual Performance Report for the Department of Education.
- Maintaining and inputting data into BLUMEN (data base) for program participants, current, inactive, and former.
- Maintain records for all Upward Bound Tutors and coordinate tutor schedules.
Ability to work in an office environment including sitting at a computer for long periods of time and lifting boxes of files.

Duties/Responsibilities
Management and overseeing of offices for three federally funded grants which includes planning and organizing administrative and clerical work requiring knowledge of TRIO Upward Bound and TRIO Upward Bound Math & Science. To include requisitioning materials and supplies and accurate inventory of items.
Percentage of time 40 Duties/Responsibilities
Typing editing, and proofreading documents attending and taking minutes at staff meetings, preparing correspondences and other documents from rough draft to final proofreading for proper format accuracy, completeness of proper routing of all copies.
Percentage of time 20 Duties/Responsibilities
Maintaining and overseeing the accuracy and maintenance of three program electronic databases and hard copy files for federally funded grants that are used for reporting to USDE and state and federal resources, which include confidential files and information. Scheduling summer classes for participants during the summer phase.
Percentage of time 15 Duties/Responsibilities
Coordinating clerical support for professional staff including program coordinators, receiving and screening mail, making arrangements for meetings with UGA staff, faculty and academic departments, potential and current students, and upper administrators as needed to include community partners, school systems, principals and superintendents.
Percentage of time 15 Duties/Responsibilities
Making arrangements for workshops and conferences, preparing agenda items for meetings, and follow up on action items. Completing and assisting with staff travel documents including TAs. Participate in professional development. Engage in and support OSSA, UGA, and external committees, presentations, and events. Assist with new and emerging work projects.
