Evening Receptionist
Position Description
This position performs reception duties from 2:45 p.m. through 8 p.m. Monday through Wednesday and 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday. This position is responsible for taking appointments, greeting consumers, receiving payment, completing day sheets and billing cards, and maintaining lobby, reception area and copy room.
Reports To: Administrative Manager, Executive Director
Classification: Part-Time
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt
Essential Job Functions
- Perform reception responsibilities for consumers and their families, including phone management and coordinating incoming communications
- Collect, receipt, and record consumer fees and donations while on duty
- Complete day sheets and billing cards
- Assist staff with faxes, copy machine, laminating machine, shredding, etc.
- Help in training of evening work studies
- Make bank deposits
- Perform any other assigned tasks
Proficiencies
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- The ability to be sensitive to the needs of persons seeking services
- Basic computer skills necessary
- Skill in filing, copying, and faxing materials
Education and Experience
- High school education preferred, but not required
- Some college or technical school training preferred
- Minimum of one year's experience as a receptionist
- Experience with taking payment by credit or debit cards as well as writing receipts and completing billing sheets and cards
Working Conditions
- This position is hourly part-time. Employee agrees not to work more than 40hours per week. Any work hours above 40 per week must first be approved by the Executive Director in writing
- Some local travel may be required
- Attendance at weekly business staff meeting may be required
- Attendance at annual strategic planning meeting maybe required
- Attendance at annual staff meeting is required
- Participation in agency fundraisers is required for one event and strongly encouraged for all other fundraising
Physical Activities Required to Perform Essential Functions
This work is sedentary and requires the following physical activities:
- Sitting for long periods of time; occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping; good finger dexterity and feeling; frequent repetitive motions; talking, hearing, and visual acuity
- Frequent lifting (up to 50 pounds of paper supplies or minor office equipment)
