The Children’s Mercy Administrative Fellowship is a one-year, postgraduate opportunity that runs from July through June. It is specifically designed for individuals interested in pursuing an administrative career in pediatric health care. During the fellowship, Administrative Fellows have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in both clinical and non-clinical areas at Children’s Mercy Kansas City. Key highlights of the fellowship: Comprehensive Exposure: Fellows have the chance to explore various aspects of health care administration, including both clinical and non-clinical domains. This exposure is facilitated through a combination of project work, rotations, and shadowing experiences. Executive Leadership Interaction: The fellowship provides opportunities to engage with executive leadership at all levels within the organization. Fellows learn from experienced leaders and gain insights into strategic decision-making processes. Personalized Mentorship: Each fellow will be assigned a mentor based on career goals and interests. Customized Projects: Projects assigned to fellows align with their career goals and the needs of Children’s Mercy. This ensures that fellows work on meaningful initiatives that contribute to their professional development. Preparation for Leadership Roles: The fellowship aims to prepare fellows for leadership careers in pediatric health care facilities. Through observation, committee meetings, and hands-on experiences, fellows develop verbal, interpersonal, and analytical skills essential for effective health care leadership.
