This position is National Remote. This position is part time, Monday - Friday. Employees are required to have flexibility to work rotating schedule of:
- Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday - 3:00pm - 11:30pm CST
- Week 2: Monday, Thursday, & Friday - 3:00pm - 11:30pm CST
It may be necessary, given the business need, to work occasional overtime.
We offer 3 weeks of on-the-job training. The hours during training will be aligned with your schedule.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Organizes and maintains health information records.
- Reviews electronic chart documentation ensuring correct patient, location, and no duplicate information.
- Processes release of information (ROI) requests.
- Manages requests for documentation and information.
- Scans and edits documents in the electronic medical record.
- Locates, logs, retrieves, files, and delivers medical records stored in various mediums and systems.
- Distributes reports and results.
- May train and mentor co-workers.
- Analyzes documentation and tracks completion to meet regulatory requirements.
- Promotes principles of health information accuracy, transparency, currency, accessibility, relevancy, and reliability.
- Work with Microsoft Word, Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets) and Outlook (email and calendar management)
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
- High School Diploma / GED
- Must be 18 years of age OR older
- 1+ years experience in health information management (HIM) OR 1+ years of experience working in customer service within healthcare or insurance industries.
- Experience with Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel (create, edit, save documents and spreadsheets), and Microsoft Outlook (email and calendar management)
- Ability to work rotating shift hours of: Week 1: Monday, Thursday, Friday, & Saturday - 3:00pm - 11:30pm CST; Week 2: Monday, Thursday, & Friday - 3:00pm - 11:30pm CST from Monday - Friday including the flexibility to work occasional overtime based on business need
Preferred Qualifications:
- 2+ years of healthcare customer service experience
- RHIT or RHIA certification
- Experience working in a call center
- Clerical or administrative support background
- Experience working in a hospital, physician's office or medical clinic setting
Telecommuting Requirements:
- Ability to keep all company sensitive documents secure (if applicable)
- Required to have a dedicated work area established that is separated from other living areas and provides information privacy.
- Must live in a location that can receive a UnitedHealth Group approved high-speed internet connection or leverage an existing high-speed internet service

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). No matter where or when you begin a career with us, you'll find a far-reaching choice of benefits and incentives. The hourly pay for this role will range from $17.98 - $32.12 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
