Description
The Revenue Cycle Operations Administrative Fellowship at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia is a two-year program. This fellowship program offers a unique opportunity to gain exposure to the complex relationship between revenue cycle management and clinical operations within a health system. The goal is to create a talent pipeline for critical revenue cycle positions. The Revenue Cycle Administrative Fellowship Program is housed within RCO in the Division of Financial Services. RCO focuses on streamlining the revenue cycle through enhanced management insight and exposure of all aspects of revenue cycle management: Scheduling, Registration, Financial Clearance, Coding, Revenue Integrity, Reimbursement, Utilization Review, Billing, Collections, Managed Care Contracting, and Customer Service. Our program is designed to provide in-depth experience and knowledge of how revenue cycle financial management functions at all levels across the health system. The fellow will be immersed in the revenue cycle through project-based work and shadowing rotations in the first year. Rotations in a more focused area in the revenue cycle will take place in the second year. Rotations in the following core areas will be included in the first year: -Service Access, Financial Clearance, and Registration -Mid-Revenue Cycle Management (Coding, HIM, UR, and Revenue Recognition) -Billing/Collections The fellow will have multiple opportunities to interact and participate with leadership and staff of all CHOP entities to enhance their education of how the CHOP contributes to clinical operations and our patients' healthcare experience. Requirements
The RCO Administrative Fellowship has moved its fellowship application for the 2027-2029 application cycle to the National Administrative Fellowship Centralized Application System (NAFCAS). Timeline - Application opens on July 1, 2026. - All application materials must be submitted no later than September 10, 2026. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis once all required materials are received. - Selected applicants will be invited to a first-round interview and if the application is selected to move forward, the applicant will be invited on-site to the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Sept. 30th - Oct. 1st, 2026,. - A final decision will be communicated to final round applicants shortly following the final round interview.
