Starting Salary: $62,544
This position is open to the public and all current City employees covered under the City's collective bargaining agreement with AMERICAN FEDERATION OF STATE, COUNTY, AND MUNICIPAL EMPLOYEES (AFSCME) - BARGAINING UNIT 1, 3, 4 & 5. Only employees in City job titles in this bargaining unit are eligible to bid.

Under general supervision, performs administrative and office management support functions of a complex nature for a City manager, OR supervises staff performing office, clerical and/or administrative functions, and performs related duties as required.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
• Plans, organizes, supervises, and reviews the work of staff engaged in performing various debt
check types.
• Monitors and expedites the processing of debt checks and responds to related customer service
inquiries, which are received in person and via email, telephone, and various software
applications
• Performs adjustments and reconciliation in debt source systems
• Manages and responds to returned payment inquiries and escalated complaints
• Coordinates the activities of staff with that of other City personnel
• Supervises and/or participates in the training and instruction of staff, including training in new or
enhanced accounts receivable operations
• Coordinates the workflow of staff to ensure efficient operations
• Manages the time and attendance of staff
• Performs regular work audits, annual expectations, and evaluations.
• Explains Departmental policies to staff and/or the general public
• Supervises and reviews the preparation of statistical, operating, progress and performance
reports
• May research and respond to inquiries from employees, department liaisons, delegate and sister
agencies regarding garnishment orders.
• Assists in the preparation and processing of court ordered wage garnishments and related
documents, as needed.
• Creates and maintains collections reports and provides statistical analysis of collection revenue.
• May assist in the processing of various check types including but not limited to claims, wage
garnishment, and mail-in payments.

Days: Monday-Friday
Hours: 8:30am-4:30pm

Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education, Training, and Experience
• Three (3) years of administrative, office assistant or secretarial experience Should the above criteria not be fulfilled, the following options are acceptable:
o A diploma or a certificate of completion from a vocational or business education program in Office Administration, plus two (2) years of administrative, office assistant or secretarial experience
o Graduation from an accredited college with an Associate's degree, plus one (1) year of administrative, office assistant or secretarial experience
SELECTION REQUIREMENTS
This position requires applicants to complete an interview which will include a written exercise and/or a skills assessment test as part of the interview. Interviewed bid applicants possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the interview and skills assessment/written exercise will be selected in seniority order according to the collective bargaining agreement. The interviewed non-bidder candidate(s) possessing the qualifications best suited to fulfill the responsibilities of the position, based on the interview and skills assessment/written exercise will be selected.
